Every missionary needs support. Every missionary needs people who will faithfully stand with them in prayer. Yes a missionary needs finances and other things too but without prayer these other needs are slow in coming or go unmet.

Afer viewing and reading about this ministry in Japan I hope you will work with me by praying for me. Where there is no prayer support there is no fruit. In countries like Japan Satan is free to bind and blind the people because there are so few Christians and therefore little prayer. The gates of hell cannot be overcome by our own power. A missionary needs to have the power of God released regularly in prayer support. On the mission field there are many temptations. Problems are blown out of proportion because of the different environment. Satan's attacks have hindered or destroyed the work of many missionaries when they didn't have prayer support. I hope you will decide to commit to praying for the work in Japan and especially this ministry.

For ten years (June 1991 to early 2001) I taught English conversation classes in Japan. It has been a tool for evangelism. But it has also given the church finances to help support my life and ministry projects in Japan. I have also received support from friends and a church in the U.S. Both personal and ministry needs were met from these two sources. In 2001 a missionary couple came and took over my English teaching responsibilities so that I could concentrate more on the pastoring of a growing church and spend more time out in the community reaching those who will not or can not come to church. That means I lost my "teaching" income but God replaced that with a part time job of doing weddings at local hotels and a resort. This both gave me the time I needed and covered the finances I needed. Even though my personal finances are met God may ask you to give to help cover church projects and meet future needs that we cannot forsee. Allow God to bless you by being a blessing to others.

This little church in Japan of 35 people has a big heart and vision. Together we have built a big new church that can seat up to 125 people. It has a children's followup program that now sends a monthly Christian publication for children to over 800 children every month. Recently we started an adult version which now has thirteen people receiving literature from us every month. We are also going to every home in the this city and surrounding cities, towns and villages with tracts. We also go to schools to hand out tracts to children. We conduct evangelistic meetings for adults and children. I and this church are doing a lot but more could be done if I had the time and financial backing. The children's followup program could be over a thousand and I could help other churches start such programs. The Japanese children for the most part do not need food or clothing or education. They are well taken care of by their parents and the government. But they are starving spiritually and for God's love.
